My brother just got back from his three month adventure on the 19th, and it is so great to have him home! He and I have a tradition of playing tag, zig zagging through the Christmas trees when we go to pick the perfect one to stand in our living room. To keep that tradition, we decided to wait until he returned to Santa Barbara to go to buy our tree, leaving it until December 20th. Nothing like the last minute! When we got there, we tried to play tag but seeing as it was five days until Christmas, there were only about ten trees awaiting our tradition. We tried but after a couple of minutes got bored because of the lack of pines to hid ourselves behind. We decided to go into the corn maze (this was usually a pumpkin patch), but it was pitch black and we had quite a hard time. We ended up making a whole in the wall of corn and climbing through. We laughed and played the whole time we were there. To make our brotherly and sisterly love even sweeter, Jake, at 18, asked me, at 15, if I wanted to sleep in his bed on Christmas Eve so that we could wake up together on Christmas. We woke up this morning to see our stockings filled, presents perfectly placed under the tree, and nothing but crumbs on the plate of cookies we left for Santa (also a tradition). I love my brother, I love Christmas, I love being a kid.
